Question Repairs on New Imprezas of any age - comments

Hi all,

Has anyone ever had a major or biggish warranty claim on their Impreza at any time which has been fixed under warranty, or gearbox or engine work etc?!? One which I.M. / Subaru have honoured?

Brian.

My gearbox was fully rebuilt last year (5 yrs old, on extended warranty).
No problems with my dealer - they took a test drive with me, I demonstrated a slight crunching into 2nd and 3rd gear intermittently, they stripped the gearbox and rebuilt it - total cost £1400!! All paid by Subaru Proven Warranty

wrxmania,
I know at least 4 owners who had Engines and gearbox syncro's done under Warranty and no Problems I have had Syncro done on my old car rear struts on the new one, no Problems it is rare to hear of refusal of warranty work other than for reasons listed below.

Most problems with Warranty concerns

A) Modifications

Subaru has stop claims for engines when exhaust/induction or Boost Mods done.

B) Consumable Parts.

They are understandable so, are hard to get claims for Brake/Clutch/Bulbs/wipers etc. but not impossible as long as parts failure and not abuse. Some have had scratched door glasses done under warranty and haven't or had grief.

Dealer to Dealer service, can and does vary. At the end of the day they have to claim 'their Costs' back from Subaru. So no piont them agreeing to silly claims and the claim turned down by Subaru and you end up with big bill that you expected to be done under Warranty

I always found my Dealer harsh but fair, at least I knew where I stood

IIRC IMHO AFAIR etc etc.

On my Bugeye WRX Lots of repeated replacements on exhaust gas sensors and batteries - total of about £1000. Never any problems with Dealer.
