Own up who has the 365BHP WR1 on here???
Just been reading a thread on a pug site and one of you lovely WR1 owners has a 365BHP & 350Ib Ft torque WR1???
The additional power has been acheived by a straight through exhaust with prodrive back box ------ a re-map ------ and a dump valve. hmmmm
Is this true or are you biggin it up a bit tooooo much ??????

My WR1 is as it come's, other than mud flaps and the strut brace which is on order.
Nothing like that untill the warrenty run's out.

Well there is only a 1 in 500 chance of seeing which one it is if you had a list of owners!
Wouldnt have bought a WR1 and tune it to that though, considering that its already a tuned car rather than standard as stated the type 25 would have been better or a JDM car to go from there (plus it probably still understeers to hell )

Can't see what the problem is with 365bhp? Can't remember what turbo it is on that as standard (I'm pretty sure the limiting factor with the mentioned minimal mods), but 365 isn't exactly tricky.

As I said I know guy - he is like a brother to me ... he lives in Essex - no where near andover Gutmann.
You seem to be having a major problem getting you're head around 365 hp. The WR1 is 320 standard ... decatted exhaust and remap would take it to 365 with no problem at all!! Nothing in it really! Do you own, or have you ever owned an STI mate ... very easy cars to modify and increase BHP/Torque on!

You are likely to find that the better respected mappers wouldn't take a car with a VF35 much further than 340 bhp or so, as any more than that, as Simon intimates, restricts the reliable expected working life significantly.

BTW, Wacky B - whether we're talking safety margin on a warranted car, or safety margin full stop, is a moot point as the car we're discussing no longer has an engine warranty on it.

Greasemonkey ... maybe you could clear up a few things for myself and a few others on here. Namely,
1) Do you have any connection with Subaru/Prodrive or the like
2) If not then where did you aquire you're information about these engines.
The reason that this guy doesn't post up on Scoobynet about his car is precisely because anyone on here who has stuff said about their car is slated by people like Greasemonkey and others who flow around rubbishing everybody elses cars. I as well as a number of others who have posted already know that this car is pushing the figures stated - I've seen the EVIDENCE!!!
Perhaps instead of flaming me and this guy who you don't know and have never met and have never experienced driving his car you could just perhaps leave it!! The evidence in this case is overwhelming and sort of puts you and you're STATISTICS into their place.
The car exists, people have seen it and experienced it - end of story!!

THE best impreza out of the box that you can buy is the Spec C, simple fact, no doubt you havnt driven one? (apart from the subtle differences in the engine, A-DCCD with mechanical rear diff and not a suretrac one extended wheelbase, quickrack steering, auto and manual intercooler spray with a 12ltr tank in the boot etc etc etc) but it isnt for everyone as its quite a harsh every day car (plus you dont get much in them).
If you look though the Prodrive thread though you will see i acutally stand up for the WR1 (take a peek if you want ) but i still rate the JDM cars MUCH higher than what we get over here, that includes the WR1 which is just a tuned 265ps car.
Tony
PS did i mention i own a Spec C anywhere in that lot?
