Default Barrier Deadlock

Does anyone have any strong opinions on the barrier deadlock that locks your car in gear? Good/Bad?

Had mine fitted when new, now 4 years on and still working fine. Had to lubricate the shaft recently as it was getting a bit sticky, well recommended.

Have got one on my 2001 WRX PPP. Wanted to know if they are a good security device and whether to fit to my long awaited WR1? To me it seems like a good bit of security kit. Having siad that, I'm not a car theif and was hoping someone might know how good/bad they really are.

Cheers for your comments guys.

Got one on my 03sti and it's very good.
Much easier to use than a disclock or suchlike and so I use it all the time.
Never had a any bother with it, and it's so simple I can't see it ever going wrong.
