I have tried both and before this I would say there wouldnt be to much difference between 98 RON rated petrol for my lovely scooby...

But I found my car hated Shell Optimax, it felt like it was been held back, I even checked to see if the handbrake was partially on!, and something definately did not feel right.

BP Ultimate for me is far better, or am I just imagining this?.

Time to start saving for the old PPP

I heard similar things about Optimax before.

Could be to do with the Optimax degrading rumour ,if its degrading in the tank in the car surly it will be doing the same at the forecourt....

BP Ultimate is only 97ron though.

Try ESSO SUL, cheaper and at least as good if not better.

ive also tried both and to be honest the BP livens up the KL a bit but nothing to write home about TBH theres not a lot of difference in the two but like i say thats just my experience

I find that a good tank of Optimax is better than conventional SUL, but that I sometimes get a 'mediocre' tank for some reason.

Could be because Optimax is really 95RON NUL 'pepped up' to 98.6 RON, whereas standard SUL is min 97 RON.
