i thought they where quick
but an evo 8(bright yellow) 330..(if you are reading, top reg) was loitering with intent on my route to work this morning as I caught him up in traffic. Puffs of smoke on his gear changes and he was off, so he was gunning it...I took chase, not impressed, I was all over him and he pulled over by the time I hit the power in 3rd.
Is this all to expect from evo's, I thought they where quick ?

I have to say I'm not impressed by the Evo8 either
The Evo 5 and 6 were their best in my opinion and, with the right 'tweaks', an Evo8 certainly wouldn't have all Scoobs for brekkie

scrappydoo,well said matey!!,the new MR is streets ahead of anything subaru have to offer at the moment,i had a PPPSTI7 with loads of suspension mods plus de-cat,and changed to a EVO VIII FQ300 all iv done to that is de-cat(£50)and in all honesty it would p**s all over the STI in every department,the STI wouldnt stand a chance on the handling department even with all the mods,and the EVO is standard,the tuning potential of the evo is far greater than the scoob,to name to examples RCs 930hp and norris designs 800hp+,even on standard internals they can take 400hp quite easily without to much money being spent and be as reliable as standard,just dont think the scoob would be as reliable with that amount of power,i know that there are a few problems with the FQ330 with fuel cuts,which is being sorted so the car you played with must be suffering with fuel cut or still running in,because having had both i can assure you that my FQ is defo a quicker car....

lots!!!!!!! wouldnt mind it though!can only think of Rocket Ronnies skyline or the RC EVO that will compete with it at TOTB..sure there is more though,was behind simon on the way to japfest,that evo is a beast........

I can only say what I saw. the reg .... V111 EVO, If he wasn't 'giving it', why the puff of smoke on gear changes ???
My WRX must be 280-290bhp !!
Still not impressed, I was more impressed with the brembe evo 4's. That was as fast as my modded WRX at that time.

here we go again!!!!!! both great cars why cant we just leave it at that!in the real world of driving wot difference does 2 or 3 tenths of a sec make?,one last thing though how many scoob drivers change to a EVO? and how many EVO drivers change to a scoob? LOL...seriously though i made the change and havnt regreted it im sure that there are people that do,Hawkeye,sorry mate just cant see how your STI would be quicker than a MR340 which is lighter,higher revving and 350hp,have you got the spec on it? would be interesting to see...

nellie i did put a in my post and unfortunately you took the post the worng way, both cars are GREAT as i said in my post IF subaru dont come up with something better than ive got I WOULD be going for an MR340 end of.......
lighter yes but not a lot?? higher revving didnt seem to be mine goes to just shy of 8000 rpm?? as to the 350bhp ill be honest dont know in real world can u tell 20 bhp difference??? we certainly could tell but it was minimal its the torque that counts on acceleration maybe mine has gobs more than an evo who knows

no worries,LOL its all good fun,could post on these all day!dont know if you know but mitsi are bringing out a MR450.....thinking of a MR320 myself,not sure about the leather or that smart nav thingy,de-cat the 320 and you get at least 340 anyway....

the leather was ok but not full leather the sat nav was awful honestly you had to press a button or something and speak to someone to tell them where you were going then it downloaded or something real wierd....
a decatted 320 would be above a 340 IMHO this 450 sounds tempting wheres the search tools
