Question Load Carrier question (Roof Rack for JDM sti v7)

I have an MY02 sti import (version 7) four door saloon.

Subaru UK sell a load carrier (roof rack) for the UK version 7 sti, the part number is E3610SE520 for £140. Will this fit my Jap car as well?

(for anyone who isn't sure, a load carrier is just the two parallel bars that go across the roof from side to side, usually fitting into the guttering. Then you fit 3rd party attatchments for carrying skis or in my case a mountain bike)

Anyone?

If you can hold on a few weeks may have one for sale from my MY02 car. Just need to advertise my car and find a buyer. If you in a hurry don't hold your breath.

Well the reason why I'm asking is that Subaru UK were keen to order the "LAST one available in the UK" for me, but then wouldn't tell me if it would fit my car as it was a Jap Import.

Not that they couldn't tell me, they wouldn't tell me!!!

They said I needed to order (pay a deposit here please...) and then chance it that it fits. Tos**rs.

So I'm interested in yours if it fits.

Can't see why it wouldn't

I use the same bars I had on my MY01 WRX on MY03 STI UK

The fitting is very easy

The Subaru roof bars are made by Mont Blanc.

Can't see why there should be any difference - the mounting points are underneath the gutters that run along the roof above the doors.

Realise that it's not stricktly answering your question, but I've got the official Subaru crossbars and cycle carriers on my MY02 wagon - and yes, they are made by Mont Blanc.

Excellent they are too, as witnessed by a private test track session with bikes on at over 100.....

I've tried Halford and looked at a Thule rack and the Mount Blanc website but they don't fit the sti without me removing the plastic wind deflector that runs the length of the car above the windows.

I need a system that fits into the gutters only. I thing the Subaru genuine article may be my only option, although expensive. Let's hope it fits.
