Detangoing...

What generation car are you detangoing?
If it's an '03, then doing the headlights involves an oven and some courage. Side repeaters need replacing as you can't get the bulbs out of the standard ones. Rears are just a bulb change.

there was a letter in autoexpress just after I'd had mine detangoed, which said that as long as the lights light up the right colour you are OK. So as long as silver bulbs light orange, no problem.
The orange bit is just a bit of plastic, its getting to it thats difficult, and being careful not to leave fingerprints.
Not sure about the complexity, as I had someone do it for me. I probably wasn't that worried about the oven (apart from my wife finding me!), but getting the actual headlights out and stripping them down put me off. I've never done any car DIY and didn't want to start on this.
There are pics of mine in the gallery if you want a look. Highly recommended.

There's 'MOT' legal and then there's 'CE' marked legal.
In theory, as long as it lights up the right colour, it'll pass an MOT.
As to whether you should drive the car on the road with 'non-CE marked' lights, I dunno. Maybe it's illegal to sell 'em for the road but not illegal to fit them.
There's the question of whether your car is roadworthy with non-approved lights........ (mandatory lights, that is).
