I thought cat A and B was total write-off and shouldn't be put back onto the road! Compared to cat C and D which are uneconomical repairs and are perfectly OK to go back on the road if repaired correctly.

Looks a bit dodgy to me, especially considering someone's already bid £6k for a cat-B 97 Scoob Turbo

Thats what I was thinking, A = Burnt out/flat as a pan cake, B = part burnt out, almost flat as a pan cake...

sounds like a ringer, anybody missing a dark blue uk turbo????

cat b is break for parts only and can only be sold to an authorised salvage yard. all parts can be used but the chassis number is no longer valid. therefore the car cannot be returned to the road. the yard should not sell the car shell if it has a cat b rating.

I see the seller has added that they meant Cat C, not B now.
