Default What are you paying for servicing?

Hi,
I'm a new member to this group but I am a regular member of GTOUK (GTO owners club). The reason I am posting is to find out some facts and figures.
I have been going to a local garage for some time now and am good mates with the owner, Jim. Since servicing my MR2 and then my 2 GTO's I have put him on our resources section as a recommended garage and now has a few more happy customers. Jim decided to log onto the site and have a look around. Basically he was horrified at the amount of money people are paying for basic servicing, clutch replacement, discs and pads etc. He then had a look on various other performance car owners clubs, including scoobynet and found the same thing.
He has since asked me to go into business with him. He has the premises and staff but he would like me to build and run website which offers these services at a fixed, sensible cost. At the moment, this is just an idea as I work full time, however, I need to research what people are paying for this sort of work.
If you have the time, could you post up how much you'd pay for the following? It would be greatly appreciated, and could save you money!!

Clutch Replacement
New Pads/discs (please specify whether it was all or some and if the fluid was replaced)
Cambelt change: Please include details of other items recommended to be changed with the cambelt
Service: Major/Interim

Just for a couple of examples:
My MK2 GTO Twin Turbo: ( I supplied the all parts except the service items) Fit discs and pads all round, fit braided hoses, drain and refill system with 5.1 fluid. Replace clutch (gearbox out) and do an interim service. Car was with him for 2 weeks as I was struggling to get the correct parts. Total bill £250

Another GTOUK member: (The garage sourced all the parts) Clutch replaced, front pads and discs replaced (All blueprint, not Mitsubishi). Cracked power steering pipes replaced (Mitsi had quoted £280 just for parts) Total bill £470!!

So, if that doesn't encourage you to reply, I dont know what will!
Thanks in advance, Mat

Any more info guys? What about the clutch? I've heard some pretty scary prices for clutch replacement in scooby's.

Any comment/post welcome

Was that just for fitting or did the guy supply the clutch as well?

i paid £300 for a clutch suppiled and fitted.

I do most of the work my self, e.g. front and rear pads (standard patterned jobbies) cost me about £30 and about a hour to fit.
fuel fiter about 14(q/h patterned one)
etc etc

Oil fiter air filter and oil costs less than £25 and about 20 mins.

But if you in the trade you will get thing even cheaper, and be able to do some cracking prices for those who wish to keep ther hands clean!

I paid £100 for a clutch to be fitted, I supplied the clutch. the guy who fitted was a rally technician based in derbyshire. it took no time at all, well impressed, subaru wanted about £300 to fit it, plus they would have wanted to supply the clutch. **** that!!
