I have a P1 and I drove the WR1 press car during the EVO group test (and drove it hard) and IMO the WR1 isn't as good a drive - too refined and less of a drivers car and didn't feel any quicker than my decatted P1. I definately wouldn't change my P1 for a WR1.

Question

ive had my P1 decatted and is running at about 320 bhp its interesting to hear the comments as the last thing i want is to go back on performance. surely with how the WR1 has been tweeked it will not be disappointing.

I have changed my P1 for a WR1, although still waiting for delivery...

Hi Ant, I'm all paid up and insured now, Tony said he thought you'd be getting your car this week...??!! Seems like you were impressed with your ride in one.. How'd you manage that...???

wr1 is heavier without much more power.

Does have nice diff though the stiffer new chassis.

For the money you have lost in depreciation and will lose again on the WR1, I would buy some handling mods for the P1 and ecutek it to the 350 mark.

Far more focussed and straight line performance at least will always blow away a 200kg heavier car.

Remember that that 200kg is a dissadvantage when it comes to handling, so though the chassis can be better, it has 15% more work to do.

I notice people also saying, I like the looks even the colour, as opposed to I like the looks. suggests to me they are trying to convince themselves.

No question for me, I would stick with the one, or better yet, chop it in for a type r.

Cheers Adam its worth thinking about. Might try and get a trip out in one before mine arrives. Just out of interest do you rate the Type R more than a P1.

My Type R ran rings around a P1 recently. Standard apart from De-cat and BOV. (I think).
