approx. how much does a UKMY99 turbo depreciate per month?
just doing some rough sums and it seems i owe more on the car than the cars worth (don't suppose i'm alone there) it's only by a bit and it's not too much of an issue at the mo (i didn't buy the car to make money)
wouldn't mind knowing when my repayments V depreciation will even out, so has anyone got a fairly accurate guess to how much a months worth of depreciation is on my car?
i've tried miserably to work it out and my feeble maths brain has gone pop
cheers

I bought my Sonic Blue MY00 in Oct 03 for £10k which I thought was ok for a very clean 44K miler. Now MY00s seem to be being offered on SN for £8K so thats £333.33 per month depreciation

[We had a MY99 from new - lost £10K in 33 months (bought 23.5K sold 13.5K in march 2001). Only got that price after waiting a long time to sell (2 months) it was one of the dearest but it needed nothing doing to it - even the pads had 7500 miles left in them! The guy who bought it also trusted me that the car had never been abused - which it had not - I drive more like PSLewis on here - 20K out of a set of tyres anyone and they still had 3.5mm of tread left when they were changed!!!
Thats 303 per month. A year later it was worth IMHO 10-11K a year later I would not pay more than 8.5 to 9K for the same car. It would need new extended warranty would now be 5 years old etc. It was a minter too low miles (21k) and FSH, new tyres and aircon refilled FSSH etc.
Thats why we sold it - that kind of deprecation hurts.
Having daid that if you love the car (and we did) and it brings a smile every time you drive it - then its worth it if you can afford it.
When the car was bought depreciation was not a word applied to scoobies - I had the choice of new - 1 year old with 1k off list and 2 years old woith 2k off list - even the autotrader did not go that much lower! Thats why a new one was purchased!
I reckon £300 ish per month is about right at the moment. If we ever buy another we will bargain hard - top money is only worth paying if you feel you can get it back.

cheers guys, about £300 a month? jeez, might take a while to catch up then
like i say, not looking to sell for a while yet anyway but you never know what's round the corner.
does anyone know if glasses guide or similar keep an archive of month by month vehicle values for me to check with?
edit: just been on parkers guide and autotrader for rough prices, parkers £7650, autotrader £8654. just a small difference then
