Scooby from Amsterdam-only 50% sealed.
My My2000 Classic Turbo was imported from Holland from new by a previous keeper.Although it is UK Spec. (So I am told).I was told that because it is a European Car the Undersealing would only be done 50%.
What would this mean? Are the UK cars fully waxed, inside doors etc. etc.
I would apprecate a contact to get a full underseal done as I plan to keep the car for a long time.
What would be involved to get the other 50% done? maybe a squirt with Waxol would be sufficient and I could do this myself.
Thanks in advance for any useful info.
The car is immaculate and I wish to keep it so.
If you know of any other changes between European/Uk cars please inform me.

Hi aggs
I'm not entirely sure as I’ve never heard of putting a percentage of under seal on! However I assume what previous owner meant was that the car is waterproofed underneath BUT does not have the necessary protection to repel the salt from the UK roads.
Most body shops (if they are worthy of that title) should be able to do it. I'd imagine you’d be looking at £80-£100

Hi Everybody,
There was a really big debate went on about this in 2000 when I also imported my car from The Netherlands.
It was difficult to tell whether this was just dealership bull**** or really an issue.
I am sorry but I can not remember the final outcome.
All I can say is I never got my car further undersealed and believe me, I would have done if it was necessary.
I still have my car and may keep it for a while yet.
Cheers!

I imported my MY00 from Holland and they assured me it was fully undersealed - certainly looks as good underneath as any UK car. Judging by the gunk in bootlid, bonnet etc I'd say it was a proper job. Giving the car a jetwash underneath this time of year to get rid of the salt can;t be a bad idea
(Finnigan's) Waxoyl is a gloopy liquid which you squirt into door bottoms, sills etc to prevent corrosion. Can't be used as underseal as it doesn't set. Plenty of underseal brands available. The trade spray it on but needs to be well masked up - can be brushed but never looks 'factory'
If I was Aggs I'd take a look over the car - if it looks sound, don't worry

Why do people think that a car that isn't underdealed is a really big deal?
It costs nothing to DIY and at least that way you know you are doing a proper job.
