Blimey 300 miles from a tank of petrol in my 04 WRX ..
I don't normally do any long journeys, but went to see my folks last weekend only 100 miles on the motorway, but I managed to get 300 miles to my £45 tank of Optimax 
I was well chuffed.
Less chuffed now it's become a £46-£46.50 tank - ba"£%d government x(
But still I don't se why anyone complains about MPG - I don't think it's any worse than my old Prelude VTEC

I went away a few weeks back for a long weekend and managed to do 346 miles in my modded STI 7.
Surprised is an understatement, it was mostly 6th gear, light throttle but with some mixed driving too.
6th gear is gr8 but stick your foot down in low gears and 180-200 miles to a tank is more like it!

Ill back up STi lad here, i usually get about 330, my record being 376 in my 03 WRX, never been called a diesel before tho.......

I got 29.6 mpg out of the first tankfull on my week old WRX, a fair bit of that was around town !!
Well chuffed as I would expect the economy to improve as it loosens up ( all other cars I have owned have improved by about 10% )

My clio 80DCi 52 plate = 550 miles over the last two days and

61.3 mpg to be exact and thats at 75-80
just use the scoob for weekends and blasting about so now its doing about 17's
