Not that you will probably have any comeback, but AFAIK TSL keep the registration on the invoice of any work they carry out so you should at least be able to find out if it was done there. Give them a call and see if they can find the paperwork.
Unless there is a warranty on the lights then I have a feeling you might have to put it down to just one of those things.
If they were just purchased from there and fitted by the owner then I doubt they will be able to help and I don't know where you stand as it could be the previous owner that didn't wire them up correctly but could be a defective light. Hard to say

Good luck trying to get a nice friendly response! ....
Nah in all seriousness if you can either get in touch with previous owner and ask him or if you know for sure it was tsl then you shouldnt have a prob as like you said they should not catch fire! .... If you get no joy from the supplier whoever it may be then you should contact citizens advice they will help you out

SNAP...
I had the exact thing when i had my first set of afterburners on mate, was reversing into a car parking space and noticed bundles of smoke coming from the rear, bit worrying really as it looked like it was coming from the exhaust, turned out to be the light and it was knackered...
I disconnected them but when i come to plug them back in to test them it just kept blowing fuses...!!!
I rang my supplier who were more than happy to replace them free of charge, they were aware that this was happening on some of the lights and said that the manufacturer did'nt seal the gaps around the PCB properly, thus shorting out when it gets wet...
I have a new set now and they are perfect, they are from a new manufacturer that have sealed the PCB correct.
Give your supplier a shout and i'm sure they will replace them if they are still under garentue!!! garenty!!! god dam it how to you spell that word...lol...
Scooby-tc and co:
I personnaly do like the STI light but just could'nt bring myself to pay 200 odd pounds just for an extra bit of clear plastic...!!!
John.

Don't understand why people have to ruin their cars with tacky gear. Rear lights especially, the afterburner lights are just as horrible as lexus rears on an impreza. Don't even get me started on neons or flamer kits. Sadness personified.
sti lights can be sourced from Ebay if so desired, yet there is nothing wrong with the std rear lights. At least you don't run the danger of setting fire to the car!

The Flame war has started...lol...
Ok afterburners might look good but as scooby-tc said everyone has got them, which ovcourse makes them better than the afterburners...!!!
Oh no wait a minute, since everyone has STI lights does'nt that just make you part of the crowd, after all i thought car modifying was meant to express originality and not to just copy what everyone else has aleady done...???
Rant over...

Just beware of the Styling Scoobynet LORDS have spoken anybody who doesn`t conform will be ousted off the net. We should all drive round in Silver plain cars that look absolutely standard and not have individual tastes.
