Default ABS Law from 01-July??

I've just read in Autocar that Anti LocK Brakes are to be a legal requirement on new cars from 01-July. Where does that leave the Scooby with DCCD fitted or do the latest versions with this have A.B.S too? I didn't think this was possible?

The new scoobies have DCCD-A. The automatic mode works with ABS. I guess if the ABS needs to come on then it overrides the driver control and switches the DCCD into auto mode.

all the DCCD does is vary the power front to rear or does it do something else?

If your DCCD is locking the wheels together it makes it hard for the ABS to effect them all individually. Much the same way that the handbrake frees the centre diff on DCCD cars otherwise the handbrake would try to stop all 4 wheels when you tried to to a handbrake turn.

All 100% true though. European legislation apparently.

I think there is an exemption for small scale manufacturers and TVR are classed as a small manufacturer
