Default Off centre steering wheel

I picked up my MY03 STi on friday

I've put £80 of optimax in over the weekend

One thing that is worrying me a little is that the steering wheel is not straight when the car is going straight. It is about 5 degrees to the right.

What would cause this and is this something I need to get sorted? The car does not pull to either side if I release the wheel and there is no wobbling or vibrations.

Default Tracking might need adjusting

When the wheel tracking has been set up if they haven't put equal turns on both track rods then the handling can be fine but the steering wheel would be a bit out. The wheels would be aligned properly with respect to the chassis and each other but not to the steering wheel.

If it's not causing uneven tyre wear I wouldn't worry too much, next time you have your tracking done (recommended every 12 months or so) ask them to sort it out.

Thanks Mike.

Tyre wear seems fine. Even both sides across the tyre.

I'll be due for some new tyres in 3-4 months so I'll get it checked then.
