Not much, look in your service book for specifics. Around £150 - £165 seems to be the 'norm'.

Just had my 10k on a 03 wrx - Including 2 new wipers and a full body service (re-wax underseal needed to keep corrosion warranty) £197 inc vat.

I just had my 03 sti, 10,000 mile serviced, which is basically just an oil and filter change and check of other levels (difs and gearbox), plus a visual check over. Quoted price was abt £120 (I think), but I supplied my own oil so ended up abt £76.
I was advised by 2 different Subaru dealers that especially on STi, Subaru UK will void warranty if you miss the service intervals by more than 1000 miles.

Was that the official bodywork service as per service manual? If so that is an extremely good price as in the past I have been quoted what you paid but just for the bodywork service.

I was quoted £210 by one dealer and £175 by another. Took it to the second and it ended up costing £172. That was just for Oil change and to check all other fluid levels.

It did also need new pads and new tyres, but I had those done seperately from the service.

As above, I think you are allowed to over run by 1000miles (if for 10,000miles), or 1 month (if for 12 month) service.

re: the body service - I have literally just got off the phone trying to book it in for one, but was told that it wasnt worth it really. I mean, they said it is worth it, of course, to keep uo on the 6 tear anti-corrosion jobby, but that it isnt really needed - and that in this day and age it is a bit odd to be doing it.

Anyway, in my case I am just off my 20,000 mile service so we decided to give it a quick look then and see what we think - ie whether to do it or not.

BTW, they said the bodywork service would cost £100-120. (no idea if that not inc VAT or anything)

In the past I was also told that the body service was not really required but obviously the warranty is void if this service is not done.

However, when I part exchanged the car, they did ask if all servicing was up to date including the bodywork services.

On my previous two impreza's I was quoted approx £120 for the body service.

Yeah, thats the thing. I will probably get it done (although it may still be void for being too late) - but then again, as long as the 'proper' service is all up to date, and there are in fact no problems apparent with the bodywork, will it really affect the value of the car that much if you dont have it?

I mentioned the bodywork service when I booked the 20k service and was told it wasn't really necessary as they had never seen any bodywork problems.

Nearly all of my mileage is in the dry anyway so I'm not worried.

Had mine done on 17th March. Cost £155 for 03 WRX but what's realy worrying is that less than 2000 miles later I checked the oil level to find it was barely on the stick

Not impressed but if this is normal for Subarus to eat so much oil I wish someone had warned me.
Or is it just mine??

I think they can use a bit of oil initially. But also, the dipstick is really innaccurate and difficult to read. Even though I have actually asked on here before, I still am not entirely sure of how you are meant to go about doing it!

Hopefully somone will clarify it . If they do, you may find that the inaccuracy of the dipstick is making your oil usage seem worse than it really is.

Mine still uses oil (currently on about 13,000miles. I check it every time I fill it up, which isn't as much a pain as is sounds once you get used to it.

I find the best way is to check the level after I have filled up and paid (gives the level a chance to settle), and I do not have a problem working out what the level is (probably helped by the fact that I am so used to reading it now). Plus, it only gives funny readings if it is low, not when it is full.

Why don't subaru have a "fixed universal price" for a standand 10k service ? Well they have one for the cost of new scoob ! Can't be too hard ....can it ?
