Can a car be painted as good as Factory?
#1
Interested in painting my 2.5 a different color. Some have told me that no matter how much you spend (5000$?) you will never get the same electricly charged coat as the factory gives.
Does electricly charging the shell at the factory truly make for a better quality of finish?
If I want the best finish, what are my options?
Thanks, JL

Electrically charged eh? Every new car I've seen come from the factory is so full of "orange peel" its unbelievable. I'll probably get flamed for this but I think factory paint jobs are a lousy finish.
Spend your dosh at a reputable resprayer and get an oven baked two pak job. Makes the car look like its been dipped in honey MMMMMMMM. But I stress a reputable resprayer to avoid the "orange peel" effect you get at the factory.

Hi, Only proper way to do full colour change is back to metal bare shell (as in total strip down) respray, otherwise you will always be able to tell it was different colour.
Will cost $000's and may have a similar (but negative) effect on your resale value.
Best bet is probably one of the excellent custom shops you guys have over there.
