Whilst in the tea room at work, i noticed a copy of autocar and inside it had a nice picture of a white type R (one of this years ones i think), the story was about how subaru are going to clamp down on people modifying their cars, blowing them up and then removing the modified parts and making fraudulant claims. This little black box will note any changes in performance due to enhancements to the car (above the manufacturers specification) to the likes of exhausts, filters etc, a subaru spokesman said these would be fitted to ALL their cars within 2 years....
Start getting worried peeps!

I thought that Porsche and BMW had been doing this for years now. The net result though i reckon will be that the manufacturers will have to deliver cars as they should be from day one instead of releasing a substandard car followed by 10 "facelifts" (Sound Familiar Subaru? ). Otherwise people would never by the Mk1 version of anything.
