Default MOT Question

If i have aftermarket driving lights on the car that havent yet been wired up is it classed as a failure? i cant remember if driving lights are part of the MOT i was under the impression that its headlights only at the front and obviously sidelights. If it is deemed as a failure could i just remove them so there is nothing to test?

No,

Driving lights are not included in the test I am sure,

We have a car that went to the local mot station for a 'pre mot test', when we went to pick it up the guy said ; it passed!'.
he wasn't supposed to test it, it had no lights whatso-ever, when questioned he said 'if it ain't there, I can't test it!'
Never have quite understood that one!

Maybe I should have stated that it was a 1953 car!!
Still is!!
Actually, you could book the car in, but not take it, cos, 'if it ain't there, you can't test it!!'

Wink

Auxilary lighting are non-testable items. The 'if its not fitted it can't be tested rule' doesn't apply to newer cars !!
