Default WR1 has started to arrive - In pieces!!

Was woken-up at 7am (Sat) by a postman delivering a parcel from Subaru UK!!

How surprised was I to find a 'Jiffy' bag containing the Numbered Tax Disc Holder (TDH), Solberg Keyring and Centre Console Insert!!? Oh and the Warranty/Service Book as well...............

...................Have any other WR1 'Owners' had the same??

Even the dealer was surprised!!

Hi Lee

I had heard that the special edition stuff is sent direct to the owner - seems crazy, but there must be a reason for it. Do you know the exact progress of events before delivery yet?

1. Dealer gets letter from IM saying car is ready (minus PPP).
2. You insure the car and get cover note sent to dealer.
3. You pay for the car.
4. The dealer Registers the car.
5. Subaru UK send 'the pack'.
6. DVLA send the reg doc.
7. Prodrive fit the PPP.
8. Car delivered (not proved this yet!!) .

Anyone like to comment/amend!!?

The first three parts are delivered free. You can get the rest from your local newsagents on a new full colour monthly magazine called "Build your WR1"*, which gives you an insight into the history and design of these world famous cars, as well as giving you the ability to build your very own Subaru.

* - normal price £8.99 a month, complete in 4000 parts.

so it seems that you need to insure two cars !!!

I own a R and am part exchanging on the WR1, but if the dealer needs a covernote for the WR-1 weeeks before delivery, ill be paying insurance on the R and the WR-1, at a massive cost !!

Cant be right ?

Talk to your insurance company about it, they should be able to accommodate you for a nominal fee once you let them know the circumstances.

Because the WR1's PPP is different from the regular one, and thus must be fitted and checked at Quedgeley prior to the car's despatch, one assumes.

Was at a dealer this morning for a 10k mile service.

Whilst having a chat, the sales guy said they are expecting the first WR1's to arrive around about 10th May.
