Question Anyone know how to fix vibrating lid on dash-top locker?

This has gradually been getting worse, to the point where there is now a permanent "tizzing" noise.

It appears to be coming from the catch itself. If I press down on it slightly it stops, as it does if the lid is left open.

Presumably the answer is to remove and then refit the catch, or is there a quicker/easier fix?

Try a little bit of blue tack around the latch! Cheapest and easiest fix I can think of!

Take the lid off completely and install a set of useful gauges?

blue tack sounds like the cheaper option.

I'd go for that

A couple of bits of rubber stuck between the lid and the dash cured mine

I had soem round foam self adhesive pads which came with some electrical equipment.

I stuck these along the edge exposed to the lid either side of the catch to push the lid away from the catch.

If you were very sensitive you could feel it makes it more difficult to close, but it fixed the rattling straight away.

Eventually it will break off because the screw holders in the back of it are plastic. (Temporary) solution is to remove the whole tray, and reattach the lid using longer screws.
