Smile Getting PPP for MY03 WRX - anything I should look for after install?

I have my MY03 WRX booked in for it's first service (10,000 km) next week and I'm having it PPP'd at the same time. They're charging me about €2,200 (including TVA or VAT to the Brits, and a 10% discount).

Anyone have some advice for what to look out for, expect to do once it's been done? I want to make sure I get a good job done.

Is it true I get all the replaced parts back except for the ECU? (remember reading that somewhere)

Hello Taomyn,
Expect a thrilling increase in your cars performance, shorter lifespan of the front pads, an extra wide grin and perhaps a speeding ticket! The exhaust sound will quicken your pulse without bugging the neighbours. My dealer offered me back the standard back box but wouldn't part with the ECU. Enjoy!

Hi Taomyn,

I've test drove the WRX03 with PPP and it was awesome however I didn't actually get it fitted in the end (couldn't afford the extra insurance cost per year).

I was told the ECU is sent back to Prodrive to be re-programmed hence you don't get the option to get this back.

Have fun and enjoy.

Thanks guys - I'll make a note of everything written.

I'm really looking forward to the change in sound, something I'm envious of when I hear my friends Classic drive about - especially in our underground car park

I wanted to get it when I bought the car last year, but funds wouldn't allow it. Oh, nice reminder about the insurance, though I doubt out here it will add much more

Thumbs up

Finally had the PPP installed, long story involving Subaru Belgium being a bunch of tarts and delivering the kit for the day after my car was booked for , and all I can say (as my face won't stop grinning ) is WOW!

I can't get over how much better it sounds, that alone was worth the wait.

Now if only Subaru "couldn't organise a p*ss-up in a brewery" Belgium can get their act together and finally send me the one missing 18" Supper Leggra I'll be one happy chappy! Annoying I won't have them on for my trip back to the UK this week

As you have paid for the std bits then you can expect/demand them to be left in the boot when picking it up.
There'll be a back box, small centre section cat and intercooler hose.

PS had mine on the PE rolling road at the weekend and don't know what all the fuss is about?
Got 265 (182 @ wheels) bhp/263 lbft as it says on the box - and that's with ambients at 21 deg C.
