CAN ANYONE HELP-TECH QUESTIONS??
Had my 03 'Blob Eye' STI for six months now, over the moon with it, as upgraded from WRX. So far I haven't had any 'mods' added, but the time has come.
My local garage (Gatwick Subaru) have kindly organised with the Southern guys on here, a day on Saturday 17th to 'try-and-buy' some of the products at a discounted rates. This all sounds great right? but me being 'mechanically challenged', have no idea what these lovely-sounding bits do and how they will improve things. Here is a list below and any advise would be most appreciated, before I spend my hard earned money on something I don't need:
Prodrive quickshift.
Rear ARB and solid links.
Front links.
Front anti lift kit / 01 front anti lift kit.
I will be adding PPP in the not to distant future, so wondering about springs etc.
As I say, any help will be very welcome.
Cheers guys.
Jonny.

Yes, l would reccommend all of that except anti-lift kit, you dont need that unless you are pulling over 300BHP.
Defo also reccommend the prodrive suspension and geometry.

Thanks Edcase and what a car your 'bugeye' has transformed into. I don't think I will be going that far (famous last words from what I hear) or I will have to take out a second mortgage and not to sure what the other half will think, bless her. Very nice and different to look at and sensible mods to improve performance-just love the APS cooler.
Spoke to the main guy at Gatwick and he didn't recommend a front strut brace when I first brought her, is this the same as a upper strut brace? How addictive is this whole 'modding' thing??
Cheers for the info

LOL, I planned on a set of fog covers, some headlights and a PPP when I got mine
I too was told not to bother with front stut brace as the newage car is stiffer than the classic, but thats bullsh1t. I would suggest doing the other mods first, and see how you go, I did a lot of trackdays so the extra stiffness was critical to me.

I had the anti lift kit fit on my bug eye and it did make the steering feel stiffer and lost that vagueness that it had before
but i did have the anti roll bar and drop links fit at the same time
I also had the powerstation geometry that replaced the prodrive settings
all I can say was the total package (powerstation geometry, 22mm anti roll bar, drop links and anti lift kit) made a good improovent on the std prodrive springs and geometry
