Default WRX vs STI

I have a nice problem here which I need help with. Buy a WRX (new) and add a few bits to personalise it (suspension and brempsort brakes) or get a slightly older (02) STi UK spec, which as we all know looks the nuts, BUT I would imagine is both more expensive to run and possibly not as easy to live with as a daily driver. I do about 12k miles per year so its not too much.

i run an jdm03sti and dont have any probs as a daily driver, and its no more expensive than my uk wrx was on fuel at the moment now it has done over 5k miles

If you like the look of the 02 STI (which i do) go for it, dont know what an STI is like as a daily driver I own a slightly modded 02 wrx with the original lights (i like em!)

I think if you're only going to do 12k miles a year in it, the STi shouldn't be too obtrusive. I think the ride is a bit firmer than the WRX, but I guess its down to personal preference. I have a PPP WRX which IMO is a good balance, but I have to cart the family round in it so didn't want anything that was too harsh on the ol' spinal column. Best bet would be take both out for a spin and see which you prefer.

yep, the WRX with PPP is a good balanced car. You get similar performance to the standard STi for a lot less money. Ok you dont get the fancy bits like alacantara seats and brembos but at least you dont look too wide boy with those gold wheels and hoofing great spoiler...jeez i must be getting old..
