Default autotrader to sold in 1hr

i still can not belive it.

i bought a new car yesterday.(for the new nursery i am opening) the trade in figure was lower than what we expected. anyway the dealer gave a few days to think if we wanted to px or sell it private.
i went home put it on autotrader, the advert went live at 18.03 a guy rang up at 18.30ish said he wanted to come and have a look (found out he was on our estate as well) 10 mins later they appeared took them for a test drive etc, they checked the docs and said they were having it. they did not even barter and we got full asking price.

fortunately for me i sold the celica and not the scoob.

still can not belive the speed of it all

I advertised my RB5 in Autotrader last year!

Autotrader to sold in 6 months

Finally sold it to a guy that saw it advertised on Scoobynet!

Received a grand total of 1 call off a customer who never came to visit and about 500 calls off about 6 other companies pestering me to place an advert with them - they just wouldn't take no for an answer....
Caller: Hello, I'm calling about the RB5, is it still for sale?
Me: Yes!
Caller: OK, I'm calling from <rip-off-car-owners.com> we can advertise yo....
Me: <hangs-up>!

BMWhere,
I had similar problems when selling cars through Autotrader. (Private sales I must add as I'm not a trader)
It's very annoying when you get a call cos you think that it's a genuine person on the other end but in actual fact it's a bloody agency saying they've got loads of people on their books that wanna buy my kind of car.Yeah right as if these people really exist!!!!
The solution for me was to register with TPS (Telephone Preference System) as once you register nobody can cold call you anymore. You can register online too.Just done it for my sister and the out-laws (in-laws)
For those that are interested, have a look at http://www.tpsonline.org.uk/tps/

Good luck

Nick

P.S: If you do get somebody cold calling you once you've registered, get their company name and the persons name and tell them you're registered with TPS.They'll soon make themselves scarce at which point you report em and they get in the ****!!!!

NickAdams, Cheers for that info - very usefull! I had a UK mobile in Germany at the time, so it was consting me a fortune in roaming charges everytime these guys phoned, thats why I hung up so quickly, but they just didn't get the message!
