Question Cheapest and most reliable Jap import company?

Hi,

I am toying with the idea of getting rid of the Evo VI for something a bit more of a 'Continent Eater'. I have already had a VVTI 6spd TT Supra and fancy another in black :-) .

Can anyone recommend a decent Jap import company that is honest and doesn't charge the earth? Some of the quotes I've had have been a bit laughable considering the Yen-Pound exchange rate at the moment.

Many thanks,

Mart.

Hi Mate, I own an import company and can offer you probably the most reasonable prices around. Get in touch for some quotes (website etc.. not fully set up yet)

Theres a place called tmimporting that charges a flat fee of £185 on top of the auction price (documents to prove it apparently). They have a website but I cant find the address, will post a follow-up when I get to work on Monday as I have the address there...

Just found the link

http://www.tmimports.net

Cant say I've used them, but looks like a very professional outfit, and you also get direct access auction information...interesting stuff...

This is just an observation; but all of their (TMImports) cars in th examples were grade R with a few 3.5's I wouldnt touch a grade R car, without being able to inspect it, with a sh!tty stick. Theres little excuse for 3.5's either unless the car has recorded over 100,000 Kms. The prices werent impressive either.

If you know what you want Id consider Newera; I dont know them and I havent ever dealt witht them, but I havent ever heard anything bad about them that was credible.

The exchange rate isnt substantially different now to what it has been for the last two years or more; currently ¥192 to the GBP. Impreza values are very strong still at auction, despite free-falling here; but it isnt just our market that sets the going rate.

It is possible to do it yourself but I would recommend against it; there are so many things that can go wrong. One last word of warning; the disabled vehicle loophole has been closed by the DVLA and all vehicles registered after 311296 will have to undergo and ESVA test using a model report. The time to find out whether you can hire one for your chosen car is before you purchase it. No model report = no SVA certificate = no registration until its ten years old

If there is a particular model and year that you are interested in then send me a message and I will tell you what they are currently selling for in auction, so youll have an idea at least.
