Question If you have a SECS unit do you need a knocklink?

The PSI Data monitor seems to include knock detection, does this do the same as a knocklink?

I think it the SECS unit shows "knock correction" at the ecu Steve ,rather than real time warnings. I'm sure there was a thread similar a few weeks ago, but as the search is fecked maybe someone can help out.

No. As Phil says, the KC is no more or less than an indication that the OE knock sensor has picked something up, and the ECU has taken some timing out. Trouble is that by the time you see that, it's too late, and, in any case, the standard sensor doesn't always everything up.

The KnockLink gives you a real time visual indication that your engine is knocking. That's what you really need to see, and that's what a KnockLink provides.
