Recall Notice!!!
Just read a thread regarding Jap Spec Integra type r's which have a recall notice on them the cost is going to be about £1000 + fitting for the bits.
Makes you wonder if buying an IMPORT Scoob (or any other car for that matter) is a good idea??? imagine a major recall costing thousands how the hell would you get it done if your car initially came from japan you could end up being seriously out of pocket.
Shudders at the thought!!!!!!

Mitsuibishi did a recall on the Evo (5 or 6) and all the UK dealers were able to do recall work FOC on imports...no problemo...the only worrying thing is being aware of the recall at all.

If the problem has been introduced by the manufacturer at the design or build stage, why should it matter where the car was sourced from (assuming both UK and Jap spec have the same part).
I realise in reality that this will matter (and who knows if Subaru/IM will sort it), but I don't see why it should.
Mind you if the recall concerns dodgy radio buttons, perhaps you don't need to bother.

Chrysler-Jeep did a world wide recall on Jeep cherokee's last year because of a faulty batch of brake discs..........mine where replaced free of charge (and they were worn !!).
As said above..if it is a manufacturer fault then the repair work 'should' be free regardless of import/export model.
