Default tragic news

got a call today from the garage regarding my scooby. it was sent in with a boost problem and i got a call today saying they had sourced the problem. one of the pistons has a hole in it. im looking at 600-700 quid for that to be replaced and my turbo has 6 months left in her. feeling gutted

I think you have missed a ZERO off the cost of rebuiling your engine.

£600-700 aslong as it hasn't marked the bore! Have they stripped the engine down or just done a comp test on it?

Exclamation

Borich, you'll be extremely lucky to get away with 6/700 quid to replace a melted piston the damage is usually far higher when examined and short cuts usually mean that you do it all again in a very few weeks time.

Best of luck, but don't short cut.
