Bonnet pins, how, how much & other thoughts/options?
Just wondering what cunning plans any of you folks might have for bonnet pin kinda things? As looking at some pictures etc some stick out quite badly etc etc so didn't know what other sleek options people might be aware of?
Also how easy are they to fit & what's the story with different bonnets whether they are fibreglass, alloy or carbon fibre in relation to drilling holes etc?
CHeers

Demon Tweeks sell a recessed plate that fits below the bonnet surface line and takes the captive sliding bit type of bonnet pin. Would tidy up the installation on a rally car. Would stick look naff on a standard road car imho.

Yep it's easy to drill a carbon bonnet (broke my heart doing it though )
I just got a set of bog standard ones from demon tweeks and fitted them one day at work, you just have to be a bit more careful when drilling and use sharp drill bits or you will split the weave as opposed to actually drilling a hole

aha found some nice flat locking goodies:
GE66 & the pack
or the GE58 which doiesn't appear to lock but is "Traditional type of quick release bonnet" any idea what that means, i guess the 66 is more flush & better but wasn't too sure & was a bit worrying where it says "THIS PRODUCT MUST NOT BE USED UNLESS IT IS FITTED IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE ORIGINAL MANUFACTURERS OWN BONNET SAFETY CATCH, THIS ESPECIALLY APPLIES TO CARS WITH FIBRE GLASS BONNETS." sounds a bit less secure from that?
Any thoughts, experiances opinions etc?
Cheers folks

oh both here too & not too expensive...

May years back a mate had an very nearly new X-packed RS2000 MK2 with recessed bonnet latches instead of pins. Not sure if an RS part or not. about 10cm diameter from memory and would imagine a professional fit or a brave amature.
They looked the bollox, to operate you pushed down firmly and rotated a 1/2 turn. The pin type bit was attached to the bonnet not the other way around, never seen them since.
If reintroduced i am sure would sell shed loads.
