Worth doing an ecu reset?
My engine blew up 6 months ago and have had a new one to replace it. Before that i was using all types of unleaded fuel!
Will it be worth me resetting my stock ecu now it lives only on shell optimax? I very rarely put o/b in but have been reading up on the n/f stuff which sounds godd but hard to get?
Will it run better if i reset the ecu with optimax now the soul fuel going in and avoid o/b?
Many thanks

i had my ecu reset recently, the guy at the subaru dealers that did mine told me that there are 2 fuel chips... 1 that has software for 92- 95 ron fuel
and the other for 95-100 ron fuel.
ecu should get reset everytime you have service too.

How long has it been since you started using optimax?
It takes a little while but the ECU does learn and adjusts to the new fuel.
If you only just filled up with optimax for the first time then reseting the ecu will make a difference but if you've been runing opti for a while then it won't make much if any difference...
Is your car an import? if it is and hasn't been mapped for uk fuel then i strongly recomend you use ob.

ECU should NOT be reset at every service, that would be bad practice.
Disconnecting the battery for 30 mins is the easiest way to do it.
If you had an engine out then battery would have been taken out anyway, or at least disconnected.
