Question Which cheap & cheerful tracker?

Insurance companies ask which tracker - anyone know which one to choose if all you want is to get cheaper insurance without spending too much

My insurance company told me to get tracker monitor equivilent or better. It sences that it has been moved and calls the tracker HQ who call you to confirm it has been stolen then they activate it and let the police know.

Have you tried Liverpool Victoria for insurance as they do not require a tracking device and have very competitive policies as long as you are over 30 IIRC.

Thumbs up Market Leader!

The cheapest tracker on the market without a doubt is "Kosovan watch".

I employ an import chappie to sit in the car at all times with a mobile phone.

This way if your car goes walkabouts he can give a running commentary on it's whereabouts.

You only need to change over your "tracker" every fortnight when fatigue sets in but as there are plenty of replacements at a great rate it's easy.

By far the cheapest route!!

Very large ball of string?
When you park up, tie one end to the exhaust and the other to a tree.
When you come back and find that some toerag has pinched it - all you have to do is follow the string and you've found your pride and joy!

The problem with these imaginative solutions is that the insurance companies don't seem to do discounts on them
Glad to see that only 1 person on scoobynet has any worthwhile view on which tracker
although thks for the LV info

Come on Scoobynet - surely you can do better than that (/flame end)

Geldy,

It's difficult to give advice on which is the best tracking device, as long as it finds your stolen vehicle then it has done it's job. I had Tracker Monitor on two cars, never had to use it, chose this one as there was a huge marketing campaign and it was backed by the Police. My current motor has RAC Trackstar 24hr Monitor only because it came with this.

My advice is look at Tracker Monitor and RAC Trackstar 24hr Monitor and see which is cheapest and then make your decision. There are others in the market but these two are, IMO the big boys.

Si.

My tracker monitor is from Navtrak www.navtrak.co.uk and I've been very pleased with thier service. As to whether it gets me a bigger insurance discount than say RAC Trackstar - I don't know.

Oh dear - sorry for being so facile.
I can't see any tracker being significantly cheaper than any others as they'd all follow suit.
I've got Tracker 24hr and seem to remember it was IRO £500.
L & V will only take on your business if you are over 30.
