MY03 WRX - FOG LIGHT
Just noticed my offside front foglight is smashed.
Any idea how much a replacement is ? and is it an easy fit ?
Also
This may be the time to swap to prodrive driving lights - any news ?
Cheers

Both mine are smashed too, but I want to find some decent covers first. I saw some STi mesh ones that looked good, but only in black and blue

Have a look there for ideas.... Not cheap though.

I haven't actually broken the fog lamp (glass) but when my MY03 was a couple of weeks old my good lady hit a pheasant which smashed the colour coded surround and also the bracket that holds the fog lamp unit in place.... It is fairly easy to change. The surround is just clipped in and should just unclip with care and pull forward (Mine was already on the roadside !!) There is a small notch to give you a clue !! With this out of the way you will be able to see the fog lamp unit itself. It is held in place with 3 x M8 bolts. If you undo these the assembly will come out. There is a plug/socket arrangement behing the lamp assemby so you can unplug the unit and remove the whole lot. It should be fairly obvious from this point...... I had broken the 'L' shaped plastic bracket arrangement which comes with the lamp so I glued this as I had nothing to loose giving it a try. I seem to remember that the fog lamp unit was something like 70 or 80 quid. (My repair is still holding good)
I needed the plastic colour coded surround (which I thought would also be mega expensive) but it was only 21 quid and when it came it was already colour coded WRBlue !!! Hope this helps...

Dealer reckons about £85.00 + vat supplied and fitted.
Asked about the driving light kit from Prodrive / Subaru - no date as yet but he suggested about £400.00 'ish fitted based on previous kits.
Anyone know the part numbers and approx price of the STI8 fog light covers in WRC blue - at least these won't get broken !!! or has anyone a second hand set ??

The fog light covers are only available in the UK STI colours.
White, Blue, Black Silver AFAIK. The STI stickers are as it comes it wouldnt be to hard to remove them.
Part number for silver ones is 57731FE300TG (The TG dictates the colour). cost for the pair £65
