Smile Big thank-you Mr Policeman!

He's probably not on here, but a big thank-you to the copper who pulled me over this morning on the M11. I don't think he knew exactly how fast I was going but it was much master than the (cough) 15 mph he mentioned.

One major b*llocking later and a promise that this was my to be my last warning I was on my way. How lucky do I feel!

Dibs (now driving slowly)

A much more intelligent way of managing excessive speed. Would a speed camera have had the same effect on you ? Would a speed camera have taken into account the driving conditions and prevailing traffic at the time ? Nice to hear there are some coppers prepared to use their loaf and EDUCATE drivers about excessive speed, rather than just dish out speeding tickets, much more effective IMHO.

Dibs, big thank you indeed...you're a lucky man!

Yep have to agree, what a great way to manage the situation. If only all traffic police were like that (on drivers driving fast without being a danger to others)...instead being pissed, you're now looking back and saying to yourself "I'll drive more slowly!"

Yes, you're all right - I do feel suitably educated now and I think I've learned a valuable lesson.

without knowing your circumstances mate i'd say if he had a camera or speed measuring device on you, he'd have nicked you!

thumbs up to the copper using common sense and a bollocking to slow you down though!

similar thing happened to me about a year ago, pulled out a bit sharpish, not seeing the copper 2 cars behind the oncoming traffic and then drove at a very illegal speed. said copper eventually caught further up the road, on came the lights, 'parp' went my ****. his first words were 'we don't know exactly how fast you were driving as we couldn't catch you', just about to tear my licence up in front of him when i figured out they had no proof of my speed.got a fantastic bollocking, **** the life out of me and i drove home like i was driving miss daisy.

i wouldn't have believed it if it didn't happen to me, but as you say, not all coppers are *******s. hurrah

eh? i can say ****, but not barstuard. how amusing

Moral of the story, drive so as to outrun any other (potential police) car so that they cant measure any speeds

Dibs, Your not the only one today, got stopped on my favourite road doing 'significantly above the national speed limit' didnt even see the officer doing his paper work parked in a side lane until he pulled out with speed behind me. Slowed it down ASAp and got off with a MAJOR bollocking... phew.... driven much slower all day.
