Default Please Help

My Scooby keeps cutting out @4500 revs , the check engine light comes on anyone got any ideas whats wrong?
If I disconnect the battery for a few hours the problem goes away for 30 mins but then comes back.

Default Help if i can

Hi

Craig
Sounds like you have an engine management fault this brings on the check engine light and the fault is stored in the ECU. You need to get it checked out with a select monitor this will tell you in what area the fault lies.
The reason why the fault goes away is because when you disconnect the battery you clear the memory on the ECU and the engine runs ok until the fault occures again.

The reason it keep's cutting out as it is 'limp home' mode, due to this fault, so get it sorted asap. You can do a test yourself, there should be two block connectors under the steering column, connect these together, turn the ignition all the way bar starting it. Then count the long and short flashes of the check engine light, which will give you a code that will translate into what part you will need.
I.E. 4 fast flashes = 4
3 short flashes = 3....code 43

I think the block connectors are the black ones, i'm sure someone will reassure.
