Default GPS performance meter

I've just got hold of a TomTom Bluetooth GPS with Navigator 2 and an HP Ipaq 2210. Whilst I'm aware that there are solutions to add speed camera locations (e.g. Trafcam, but I think there are also some free ones), is there any way I can use it as a performance meter? I'm thinking 0-60, 0-100, standing quarter, etc. Surely there must be a bit of software that does this.
