Extended Warranty
Hi guys,
Whats the best option regarding an extended warranty on a Scoob? The car would be a 3/4 year old P1 with circa. 21,000 miles?
Can anyone point me in the direction of some good online warranty sites? Or can you buy one from Subaru?
Cheers
Paul

If the car has such low mileage, I would go for the 2 years / 60,000 miles option for around £400. This represents excellent value when you consider that you also get 2 years of Subaru Assistance thrown in.
The only downside is that you have to apply for the extension to the existing warranty within a certain limited time period. As soon as the three year standard warranty is up, you have to purchase the extended warranty or you will lose the option.
Do you own the car at the moment?
Mark.

I have just renewed mine through http://www.finax.co.uk/frameset.htm?.../motorcare.htm , £800 for 3 years unlimited mileage. I got the details from IM Finance dept, as it is not the normal Subaru warranty you are not tied to main dealer servicing.

I saw your post on the P1 site, I had a look at that link, but it didn't give any details of the warrenty package. Only mentioned breakdown cover etc. Do you have any more info on the warrenty they offer?

Full rescue and recovery, including onward transportation, overnight accomodation, home start etc.
The car does not have to be serviced at a dealer, servicing has been done to manufacturers specification. All the main mechanicals are covered, including MAF, turbo, timing belt, suspension etc. Full claim payed if car has done under 60K, 60K-90K £1000 towards anyone claim, 90K onwards £250. My main concern having a P1 was the engine going bang, so I put the scenario of the big end going to them and they said it would be covered fully.
Mechanical cover is valid in Europe for 60 days with recovery to the UK paid for when you return.
IM sent me a leaflet with all the above details.
