Login Problems
It appears that many people are having trouble logging in to the new software.
If this is the case, please delete your cookies, as it appears to be caused by a corrupted cookie file.
To do this, either use the option in your browser, or delete the actual cookie file on your machine. If you take the latter option, please make sure that you have closed all browsers prior to deleting them, otherwise they will be replaced once you close your browsers.
Apologies for the problems.
All the best
Simon

With respect might I comment that a lot of peeps might not know how to find the cookie file in question or even use the browser option. I posted a comment about this several days ago and asked SN to re-send my password. Nothing happened (not a complaint as you may have other things going on ) and eventually found my password again. Just a PC challenged observation. Well done on the new SN. DL

To remove JUST the ScoobyNet cookie in Windows 2000 and XP:
* Close ALL browser windows
* Click the start button and click on "Run"
* Type in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Cookies
* Locate the file called username@www.scoobynet.co.uk
* Right click the file and delete it.
* Close the folder, and load ScoobyNet up as normal.

Hi All
There is a bug fix, which has now been installed which may solve this problem for some users.
If you are still having trouble logging in, please try again now.
All the best, and apologies

Like the guys above, I too have deleted all cookies and temp files. Immediately afterwards I actually managed to get directly into the SN homepage. But as soon as IE closed and re-opened back to the same meaningless symbols etc (for an example see http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/showthread.php?t=299985
I'm running IE6 on XP Pro.

If you are deleting cookies manually. You need to be sure to close all browser windows before deleting them. If you don't do this, they will be automatically replaced once you close your browser.

Simon,
I'm afraid I spoke too soon! I can't get the SN homepage to load properly, all I get is a load of garble (see previous posting). It still happens even after I've cleared the whole cookie file (with IE closed).
But, whilst it does this for the vast majority of the time, it does very occasionally load correctly. Any other thoughts?

Could you send me an email to simon@scoobynet.co.uk and paste a few lines of the garbled text you get into it?

BL2, have you checked every bit of advice that is presented to you on the "not authorised" page?
Are you trying to post in a subscription only forum?

right..
it appears that the reason for missyc, and therefore I would assume for others is that their account is set to "awaiting email authentication". This possibly means that you have changed your email address, or something in your profile, in which case you may need to authenticate again using the email that is automatically sent to you. Until you do this, your account will be locked out.

Ive had probs for the last three days.
When I logged on I got the starter page displayed as jumbled letters and numbers.
A full grey screen with black text.
Sonic sorted me out with a clicky on www.5ive-o.com, so it may help others. Look in the front office under ScoobyNet posted by Yoza.
Hope this helps someone else......
Later Yoza (computer whizzz kid)
