Question

I've bought a steering wheel, where part of the black colouring has worn away.

Is there an easy way to re-colour it in black?

Thumbs up

You can get permanent leather dyes from most good shoe repairers.
You may end up having to do ALL the black though as there are different shades of black, believe it or not!

The leather has gone beyond the point of just feeding and reconditioning it!

I went to Woolworths and found a shoe dye (£2.99) that is meant to change the colour of leather! I suspected that I would have to re-do the whole wheel, but that's not a major problem!

Cheers

Andy - check the Before & After pix on THIS THREAD

Absolutely superb results, and at £250ish for the full interior, can't see a wheel being that costly (?)

don't put shoe dye on it, it will juet come off
on ur hands(look at ur socks after gettin ur leather shoes
wet!)get some leather furniture dye and putit on in thin
coats takin about 3-4 hours 2 dry shouldnt take no more
than 3-5 coats for a good result.
