Legacy B4 RSK!
#1
Many grey imports sell this car, and still I don't read any threads about it.
Is there anybody out there that owns or drove this car, and if so:
* How does it drive?
* How do you compare it with the opposition (Audi S4, Gallant VR4)?
It should be a great car, it has a Porsche tuned susspension, a cool LCD gauges, Macintosh sound system, twin turbo engine, leather interior, climte control.

The UK version of the RSK is currently going through the homolgation loop with IM (allegedly). Don't expect it to be in the showrooms before December this year and, most probably, won't be available until next year.
Much more refined than an Imp, also more subtle on the road (especially in a dark colour) so the boy racers and the plice leave you alone. On a par with an Imp point to point, but slower than a P-1 (well, it would be, weighing 200Kg more). Twin-turbo setup means you get better fuel consumption than you'd expect from 280PS. Haven't heard about a P-2 being available.

"Better Fuel Consumption than you would expect" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I wish my GT-B (same engine as RSK but Estate) was like that - it curently gives worse fuel consumtion than my Supra Turbo and I thought that was bad.
Great Car though - very subtle (particularly the estate) and fast enough to surprise most things on the road

Paul,
I get 22-25mpg with my Legacy RS in normal (quickish) driving; down to 14-16mpg on a track day. These are better figures than I used to get with my MY94 Impreza Turbo (211PS). I do get better consumption than I expected from the RS - it's only a couple of mpg worse than I used to get with my previous Legacy 4CAM (only 150PS), but worth it!

Brian,
I tend to get around 20mpg, but I suppose the Estate is heavier (and less aerodynamic???) - but I have quite a heavy right foot
Anyway back to the original subject - great car, better quality interior than Impreza, great handling (less nimble but more stable than Imp), fast (276bhp), great climate control, lots of room, Q-car
Downsides - fuel consumption, torque valley between the turbos, Impreza drivers don't wave

Paul,
Agreed. BTW, I've always run my RS on SUL and the "torque valley" has all but disappeared. It's still there but barely noticeable now. Never really spoiled the drive, treated it more as the calm before the storm!

wot about the funked-up Blitzen version of the RSK? any idea if import examples will make it to the UK?
i asked the sales manager at heritage in leicester and he looked at me like i'd landed from the planet zob. hadn't even heard of it.
i've seen some pix - the red one in the official subaru shots and the ones that evo has run. outstanding. absolute brute of a machine...
