Lost coolant in engine

Filled it back up with cold water but the car lost its coolant during the day.

Am I ok to drive this as it air cools the engine?

WHats the problem?

Could be anything from leaking radiator, heater matrix, split pipes, blown head gasket, cracked head etc etc
