I woke up this morning to find Google at the bottom of the page...I've not had time to personally decide which would be better i.e. at the top or bottom of a page or less or more of an 'eyesore' for those who have not been in favour of having the adverts in first place or better or worse as an advertising impact compeller for Google, but here is my contribution to the having the adverts positioned at the bottom of the page(s).

I'm not stepping on anyone's toes when saying this but it would be far less intrusive having a soft separation bar so that the adverts are very discreetly separated from the main post.

Anyway, see what you think of the following two designs as this could be something Simon would like to look into:

Hi Simon

We can't spend any more time on this right now. We will never be able to place them so that every single member is happy.

I would ask you and all to give it a try in this format for the next few days. I hope you think this is better than in the middle of the thread.

The negatives to anybody must be almost absolutely zero now. No scrolling, no page slow down, not interfering with the thread flow. All you have to do now is accidentally see them when you read something.. I really don't think this is a hardship.

Your support is appreciated.

All the best

Simon

The new position of the google ads is much better than before, personally i don't think that it should change.

They can actually be useful where they are. You know you're at the end of a thread without having to scroll any further.:

Webmaster Si,

I do fully support what you and everyone else concerned are doing for ScoobyNet by trying to increase revenue so our community can continue to run and also improve on the current features being offered to existing members So I do realise the importance of generating revenue which is why I myself recently contributed by becoming a Plus Member.

I have not ativated, the 'switching off' of the advertiser (good feature for Plus Members!) because the adverts in the current layout do not distract too much from the main post but more importantly I feel users will now be able to familiarize themselves fairly quickly on this for each page. As already stated, it's just the initial shock to get a change no matter how big or small, better or worse but in time things will level out and everyone will have forgotten all about it.

I defintiely prefer google at the base and the above templates are just my tuppence

Keep up the good work!
