Flashers and Wavers!!!
#1
When I was a kid my dad had a Saab that he used to do road rallies in, when we went on holiday every Saab we saw would flash and wave, when I was young I thought is was great and was really disappointed when Saab went up market and it all stopped.
When I got my Subaru I started getting flashed and waved at, the first time I was so surprised I tried to flash back but just managed to single wipe the windscreen ...
Bit daft, but I think its great, and my dad is quite amused, now I always look out for Subaru’s, obviously with my right hand at the ready!!!
Keep it up!!!! remember just because other Subaru drivers don't do the same doesn't make them ignorant, they may just wonder why the hell somebody just flashed and waved at them

You really mean imprezas, rather than scoobies
Having driven an imported 280 bhp Legacy B4 for 2 1/2 years, and 50,000 miles, I have only once (yes ONCE) had a wave returned on all of the 100's of times I have waved (and I'm not including the one and 2-finger salutes I get from scooby drivers who think I'm trying to tell them off about something).

Hi,
i have quite a good wave rate - trained the missus to watch out for scoobies
However, PLEASE PLEASE do not expect a wave back if she is driving - she is dangerous enough with two hands on the wheel let alone taking one off, trying to wave while concentrating on driving, concentrating on not crashing then getting the waving hand back on the steering wheel while concentrating on driving ...

I always wave. and success rate is about 50% but nobody seems to mention seeing other Impreza owners on the WAS IT YOU FORUM. north of Manchester and Leeds.
Keep up the waving owning an Impreza is like joining a family and was wondering If Evo ownership is the same.

Si97, i to have achevied the single windscreen wipe! only had my scooby 2 weeks today and have taken to waveing as the flash generally gets confused with the wipers. will sort it out one day!
Love the waving thing, although not everyone seems to agree, plenty of people ignore the wave

I pulled up alongside an Evo6 Tommi Makkinen edition the other week. I looked across at the bloke and there was the classic narrowing of eyes and barely perceptible nod that you usually only see in Clint Eastwood spaghetti westerns. We both pulled away normally, almost trying NOT to be the first away from the line!
