I am with a broadband provider & am having trouble getting onto scoobynet at times
However if i shut down my router & reboot the computer it seems to cure the problem mostly & it works
BUT then during use at any time it crashes again !
for 4 months I have been asking the provider to investigate but with no success

does anyone else use tiscali broadband & have the same problem

& other than leaving tiscali is there any way of curing the problem ?

i dont want to be off line for 15 days while switching provider but am getting fed up with having to reboot my computer !

ALSO POSTED IN COMPUTER REALATED BUT WANTED A WIDER AUDIENCE

Is it just Scoobynet?

I'm with Pipex broadband, using a spare PC as a router for an internal house network... On occasion, the connection drops for no apparent reason and requires a reboot to get it back. It's annoying - is this the same sort of problem as you?

Not the same then, as mine seems to happen no matter what the website is. Probably the sick old PC we use as the router...

Best of luck.

Paul,

I have been using Tiscali for over a year now (512kbps)without any problems. Occasionally, I have trouble getting a connection but I think that's probably their end with the servers. Scoobynet is sometimes slow, most likely because of the number of hits but I've never had it crash on me.

DJ.

Me too.

Only scoobynet, sometimes I cannot get onto the site for 2-3 days.

This is the first day since Monday I can get on.

No idea what's going on.
I have only had the problem since swapping to ADSL (with Openworld)
My pc at home is on ADSL with pipex.. no problems there.

http://217.79.111.23 (217.79.111.23)

use the ip address anbd it normally cures connection issues as some providers need to sort out their DNS servers.

Cheers guys
Yes Andy maybe
I have spoken to Tiscali about it & wanted proof other people were having problems because at the moment they say its either a problem my end or with scoobynet !
but if several people contacted them they may take it more seriously !

Fulham

Amazed that you could actually find someone at Tiscali to speak to!

In my direct experience they are the worst company I have ever dealt with in my life. They still send me text messages and I can't seem to stop them.
