Waxing Alloys
#1
Hi all - my car came with waxed alloys...anyone know what they might have used? seems to make cleaning them a doddle, but suspect it won't last for too much longer. What should I use?

i'll second the above , any good wax will do , and it makes cleaning them a lot easier , Halfords do do an alloy wheel protector which is just like a wax spray , It might be it ?

Why has Autoglym been mentioned in the same sentence as wax??
Autoglym's a polish, not a wax.
A *wax* is what you need. Personally i use Swissol's cheapest (which is still expensive by most standards), but any decent one should help preserve the alloy finish and aid cleaning.

I've said it before, and nobody ever listens, but they all think my car's shiny. Simoniz Original Carnuba Wax. £5 a tin, if you can find any anywhere. And don't look in my shed, I haven't got 20 tins stashed, honest

Does it come with a free "handy carry bag" and a 100 page instruction book on how to use it ?
If so I'll take one.
At £150 it must be as good as swindlesol if not better

I'm sure if I tried really hard I could write 100 pages on waxing cars. But at that price I think I'll just pay some bullsh!t ad agency to do it, like the other companies do. If I could get £150/tin I'd be minted. Fools and their money, eh !
I would, quite honestly, come to anyones house and wax their car for them in person for £150, if anyone's interested.
