FUEL CONSUMPTION FOR UK TURBO

I've got an MY00+PPP...
I normally keep tabs on this and I have found the following:
Worst - 191 miles out of 51 litres (~11.3 gallons) - I was doing a lot of hard acceleration!
Best - 296 miles out of 56 litres (~12.4 gallons) - London to Newcastle at 70-90 mph, all motorway!
If I drive on a mixture of roads I would say that I get about 220-240 miles out of 50 litres (~11.1 gallons) on average.
The fuel consumption was better before I had the PPP addded, obviously!!
Mark.

I had a Lambda sensor problem and was getting 17 in the town. Bought a new one and now I get about 24. I have been told that they are considered a 'consumable' and should be changed every 3 years or 30,000 miles because of the close proximity to the turbo. £100 though!

In all honesty, I sometimes can't understand why this kinda question comes up on this site!
The scoob is a performance car, first and foremost.
U should be buying it for the performance, not economy.
I knew exactly what I was getting myself into, so didn't worry about the fuel bills.
If u are concerned about MPG, then buy a diesel.
The BMW 330d for instance is very good, as is any VAG car with the 1.9TDI motor.
Just my own thoughts on this subject!

Valid points made above about the diesel but as a questions been asked may as well give an answer! I get around 220-230 miles from a tank in my MY00 but as mentioned you get what you pay for!

It is an important question, but it's been covered many times.
I used to get 30+ mpg, then my car got sick, and it came down to 25 for A & MWay driving. I hope I've cured it now. If I didn't know what it was supposed to do to the gallon, then I'd never have known there was a problem!!
Round the local B roads, I can get anywhere between 10 mpg and 25, depending on my mood, the time of day and the amount of traffic.

its a fair question.......how much are others getting? didnt sound like he`s concerned too much to me. Its something I wonder, and im not worried about it!!
190-280 miles per full tank from my 98 wagon, obviously depending on driving style and type of roads, was the same range in my 01 bugeye WRX.

Mines similar to Wuss. Worst tank was just under 200 and best has been around 300. The 200 was when I put BP ultimate in but usually only optimax. Don't know if this was coincidence.
I have to say I'm very happy with fuel consumption on my UK turbo. I had a Nissan GTIR which struggled to get over 200 miles out of any tank and it didn't matter how you drove it. With the Impreza if its a long motorway journey I can just sit at 70 and get possibly over 30mpg - whats the point thrashing a car on a motorway? its not that much fun driving fast in a straight line for 3 hours.
/edit also helps me if I only have a little fuel left as the nearest optimax is a 40 miles round trip.

Just as a matter of comparison, In my STi MY03 I averaged 17 mpg over 850 miles of my normal driving which is mainly taking the car out for a spin round the lanes and about 150 miles of Mway.
