Had mine up for sale here on SN for a while, though I didn't expect much, there's been little interest.
I'm about to go the Auto Trader/local paper route. Are scoobies selling? Has anyone tried to sell a Type R recently?
I don't really want to get rid, but I'm going to be doing 400 motorway miles a week for the next few months, the scoob is a bit of a chore on the motorway. Going back to a BM for a while before I go for a 911 later this year.
Has anyone had trouble flogging their Type R?

I knew I should have started a different thread, for instance;
"I just made my Granny **** her knickers with my new zorst!!!"
I'd have got loads of response!

your not alone m8,, been tryin to sell my type r recently but had no luck at all. not desperate, but needed to free up the funds for another project.
got to the point where i'm just gonna keep it and raise the funds another way!!
the car is just too good to give away at a silly price.

Not a type R, but when I sold my WRX last summer, I advertised it on here first. After getting absolutely sod all response, I whacked it in the autotrader, got at least a dozen callers, and sold it to the first viewer on the first weekend of the advert.
It was mint though.
Draw your own conclusions on the use of the 'for sale' section on here for selling cars...

I sold my STI a few weeks ago... I wasn't in a rush to sell it and all in all it took about 4-5 months of on/off advertising when I had the time or inclination.
Don't expect to sell it here unless your giving it away seems to be the general concensus (and very true imho..... Auto Trader/ Exchange and Mart is your best bet, just expect to be bombarded with wasters offering 5k or less or those rip off companies like Auto Data (imho) regardless of whether or not you put 'no timewasters' etc in the ad.
I found the best comparable car in Auto Trader and priced it slightly less, and it went in about a week.
Best of luck ....

The for sale secion on here has now got out of control.
You would think the webmaster would want to do something about it, but it appears he doesn't care.
I put my car up for sale on there and within 10 minutes it had dropped off the first page. So I BTTT'd it, same happened again.
Surely there can't be that many people selling scoobs???
It turns out, due to free membership, people are joining here and putting anything from a set of golf clubs, to the kitchen sink in there.
Unfortunetly I think scoobynet has rapidly gone downhill over the last year.
The only sections worth of the original scobbynet brand are the technical sections, with the likes of Greasemonkey and John Banks, plus many others providing usefull information.
Oh well, i'm leaving scooby ownership and scoobynet.
Great site, great people. I guess the only way to convert it back to a site for true scooby lovers would be to introduce a membership fee.

Perhaps there should be two 'For Sale' sections; A scooby related only section and an everything else section.
I must say, SN as done more to make me want to sell my scoob than to keep it. (though thats not the reason!)
