My WRX is just 6 months old and the front calipers are very corroded (rears are fine). Ive never used alloy wheel cleaner on the wheels just soapy water.

Is the normal and has anyone else got the same problem?

Looks like I will have to get to Halfrauds and get some caliper paint then.

Sorry to hear that guys. 6 months no problems - do you live near the coast? Corrosion that quick is obviously not normal.

I Think this has been a problem from 01 onwards,to pick out the subaru letters in white use a hard sponge dipped in paint and wipe off excess, press on and done as easy as that.

Mines done 4000 miles and is 6 months old, both front calipers turned a mingy grey/yellow colour last week. The rears are still like new and the wheels are only washed with soap and water, and this corrosion vitually happened overnight.
Went back to my dealer who took photos to send to Subaru, I'll keep you posted on the outcome.

Here is a tip for when you painy your calipers:-

Paint the whole caliper in chosen colour e.g. red. Once that has dried use a flat piece of cork (or similar) and spread a quantity of white paint on it (not too thick). Offer this up to the 'Subaru' lettering. Give it a press and voila, perfect result. Finally, a coat of lacquer over the whole caliper finishes the job off nicely.

Cheers
