Reluctant starting Forrester 2.0 XT
#1
Hi All
My 4-month-old Forrester 2.0 XT, now with 4600 miles on, is becoming reluctant to start. 6 or 7 seconds cranking before it fires. This morning was about 7 seconds with outside temp of +4 degrees; yesterday was slightly less at outside temp of –2 degrees. Are these times unusual or are these horizontally opposed engines generally slower to fire than straight four engines? At its first service (1000) miles) my local Subaru garage fitted semi synthetic 10W-40W castrol performance oil, will this have any effect on its starting as when brand new it started OK, but of course the outside temp is very much lower now than in September. (Is that oil OK for a turbo?)
Hoping to get a little snow down here (Berkshire) so I can try its grip!
Looking forward to your comments. Wishing you all a Happy Christmas and a happy New Year.
